MARRIAGE SPOUSES

The best of life is to have a companion, someone who will ever be ready to listen to you and ready to share with you. The Bible says “it’s better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps…” Ecc 4:9-10. In marriage, there is need for hand to be in hand.

TWO TYPES OF SPOUSES
1. All-weather spouses
2. Fair-weather spouses
  • All-weather spouses: these are spouses that fit all conditions of life whether pressure or pleasure, pain or gain, scarce or surplus, rain or sun, loss or profit, they are there by your side like a mountain. When trouble comes and wind blows, when life is not favorable to you, trust them they are there for you. If you are sick they are also sick, their joy lies in your comfort and happiness.
  • Fair-weather spouses: these are spouses that can only be there for you when things are fair, either rain or sun, warm or cold base on their own interest. These set of spouses can only go along with you when things are rosy. Some house wives are always happy and cheerful at every beginning of the month while resentful and nagging when the month is ending, why? Salary is not enough again and the husband is telling them to manage. Likewise some men can turn things around when their demands are not melt, whether food or sex.

EFFECT OF FAIR-WEATHER SPOUSES ON MARRIAGE
1. Emotional instability: your spouse cannot trust you for everything
2. Insecurity
3. undependability
4. Selfish interest: there won’t be much problem in your marriage if you are not selfish
5. Under achievement
6. Loss of confidence. etc

Don’t forget that you are a spouse and, what kind of spouse are you?
May the GOD of Heaven always give you the season of grace in your marriage. –By Ojo.
