LEARN TO MAKE GOOD DECISIONS

Forsake foolishness and live, and go in the way of understanding. Proverbs 9:6
We find real peace in our hearts when we live our lives the way God wants us to live it. That does not come easily to anyone.
All of us struggle daily to make choices on issues that we don't fully understand.
Sometimes we think we have made a good decision and then over time the consequences of that decision explode nastily in our face.
We look around ourselves and feel very foolish. It happens to everyone. Even the most mature Christians make mistakes.
However, there are some things we can all do to minimize the bad decisions we make.
Here are a few guidelines:
• Ask God to reveal His priorities for your life and show you how to best pursue them. It is easier to fit other things in your life when you know most important things.
• Carve out time to keep regular appointments with God to pray and listen for His guidance.
• Consider the desires God has placed in your heart and the purposes He has revealed for your life. Keep those desires in the forefront of your considerations.
• Commit to investing some time everyday toward fulfilling those desires and purposes. Big ideas are achieved little by little.
• Regularly update your objectives as God leads you into new seasons of life.
• When making short-term decisions, strive to keep your long-term objectives in mind.
• Spend regular time each day praying, reading the Bible and getting to know more about God's character. Even fifteen minutes each day will add up to great benefit over time.
Prayer: Lord, help me to keep Your priorities for my life this year in focus.
