KEEP YOUR SMILE UP!!!

When my kid sister was born, we all adored her. One thing that was prevalent was her awesome smile! And years later, she still has an awesome smile. She smiles at anything and at everything! Ask her how she is, she smiles. Ask her if she’s hungry, she smiles. Scold her, she smiles while explaining. Tease her, she smiles while asking that you please stop. She just keeps smiling, so much so we named her smiley….lol. But with growing up and facing the real world, I notice she doesn’t smile all through all the time any longer. Few times she’s gotten home tired from work, and she’s frowning!

Believers are also like that you know. We are meant to walk through life with a smile on our faces because we are relaxed in God. But we tend to lose our smile sometimes, which is an overflow of the joy that should be in us – the joy of the Lord! So we go through a hard day – we frown. We get angry about something, we frown. We get upset - we frown. We are unhappy - we frown. We read someone’s comment – we frown. We get insulted – we frown. We have a need – we frown………and this goes on and on. Scientifically, it is proven that we use more muscles to frown than when we smile. So ideally it means the face is more relaxed when we smile. And if the face is more relaxed, then we tend to look younger, feel younger and maybe live longer?

But on a more serious note, why should we smile? I mean it is allowed to frown once every often, isn’t it? After all, life can sometimes be tough, things can sometimes go wrong and God gave us the ability to frown too. Well, God gave you the ability to smile, didn't He? So why choose the negative when you can have the positive? I daresay if you have a good understanding of God’s love and let it sink in, joy will always fill your heart regardless of the situation. The presence of God and the actual knowledge of it fill your heart with such joy and peace that it does not fail to spill over and show!

Spectacular Sri Lankan wedding is the world’s biggest ever

Planning a wedding is a major undertaking for any couple... but not for Nisansala and Nalin from Sri Lanka who married this week at a Guinness World Record breaking ceremony near the capital city of Colombo.
The bride and groom had a staggering 126 bridesmaids - easily beating the previous record of 96 held by a Thai couple - all dressed by Nisansala's sister-in-law Champi Siriwardana, who first suggested they go for the world record bid.
Of course it probably helped that Champi happens to be one of the Asian island's leading wedding planners and dress designers.

It also didn't hurt that the guest of honour was Sri Lanka's First Lady, Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The spectacular ceremony was elaborately staged at the Avendra Gardens in Negombo, 30 kms from Colombo in front of hundreds of family and friends.
All of the wedding party - bride, groom, 126 bridesmaids, 25 best men, 20 page boys and 23 flower girls - were dressed in richly embroidered traditional costumes in shades of purple and gold.

People thought I was too small, skinny to be a good player – Kelechi Iheanacho

Nigeria’s outstanding No10 Kelechi Iheanacho put on a dazzling display of football here in UAE, scoring six goals and setting up a further seven en route to a fourth title for the west Africans. A playmaker and lethal finisher all rolled into one, his trademark goal celebrations had the Nigerian fans here in UAE on their feet from start to finish.

FIFA.com caught up with the best player of the 2013 U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates to talk about how it feels to be a world champion, his chat with Nigerian legend Nwankwo Kanu and why he had doubts about his size and strength when he was called into the national team camp.

How does it feel to be a world champion?
Kelechi Iheanacho: I feel good, I feel good, I feel good! I thank God because I feel so good. I don’t know if I can find the words to say what I’m actually feeling. I can’t even tell what I’m feeling because I’m feeling a millions things at the same time. I am feeling love for my teammates and my family and my country. I feel all of it. I’m on a high for winning the World Cup and the Golden Ball (best player). It’s all smiles here in the locker-room.
How close to you feel to your teammates at this moment?
Kelechi Iheanacho: None of this could have been possible without my teammates. They are the best. The way we all cooperated together to win the World Cup is simple amazing. It’s like nothing else I’ve ever felt. I give them thanks for making it possible for us to do what we did.

You were named the tournament’s best player and you were the second top-scorer. How does that feel on a personal level?
Kelechi Iheanacho: It means a lot to me personally because when I came into the national team camp I felt uneasy. A lot of the boys thought maybe I was too small, too skinny to be a good player. But I realized now with what I’ve done here that God is preparing something special for me.
it’s been an exciting few weeks for you and your Golden Eaglets here in the United Arab Emirates. How has your time been?
Kelechi Iheanacho: I’ve loved the time I’ve spent here in UAE. It’s a wonderful country and it was amazing for me and my teammates to see a different part of the world and to show our football to the people here, I will remember it always.

You had tremendous support from Nigerian fans here for all of your games. How important was that?
Kelechi Iheanacho: The fans here have supported us so much. It’s been incredible. They’ve given us courage and cheered us up when things weren’t going so well. The fans here in the stadium and the ones back home, they own a part of this trophy too. They helped us to win it.

One of Nigeria’s best-ever players, Nwankwo Kanu, was here to watch the final, and you two had a long chat after the whistle. What did you talk about?
Kelechi Iheanacho: He is the true hero of football in our country. Back home, he’s like a father, like a brother. He’s like everything to me. He always gives us advice. He comes to train with us, to make sure we’re happy and moving in the right direction. He helps us to understand what football is really about, and what it takes to make it in the game. Talking with him and being with him is just a great honour.

Do you have a message for the people back home?
Kelechi Iheanacho: I just want to send my love back home; to everyone and to everything Nigerian.

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets win U17 World Cup, beats Mexico

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets became the first country to win the FIFA Under-17 World Cup for the fourth time on Friday after handing a comprehensive 3-0 defeat to their Mexican counterparts, El Tri, at the El Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Despite the stiff opposition and the early attacking play of the Mexicans, who had suffered a 6-1 defeat in the hands of the Nigerians in their opening group  match, the Golden Eaglets got the first goal when Mexico’s Eric Aguirre, who was under pressure from Eaglets Musa Yahaya in the ninth minute, tap the ball into his own net.
Dele Alampasu, who was in goal for the Nigerians, ensured that the Mexicans were kept at bay with brilliant saves while Captain Musa Mohammed directed the Eaglets attacks from his right full back position.

WHEN YOU MAKE DECISIONS

When you make decisions, decisions also turn around to make you and each decision you make determines how far you will go in life.
Note: not making a decision is a decision. I remember the story of a soldier during the civil war in America. He was scared and could not decide which camp to stay in. He got the top uniform of one camp and the trouser of the other side and put them on. So whichever side he found himself, he would say ‘I’m on your side.’ But the day they saw him, soldiers of both sides saw him at the same time, one side saw only the top and the other side saw only the trouser, so the two sides fired him at once. This was a bad way to die and either camp couldn’t claim his body.
JESUS CHRIST is the decision you should make because HE is the Way to JEHOVAH GOD, our Heavenly FATHER, the Creator of Heaven & Earth & everything therein.
Our decisions as Children of GOD must be by the Counsel and Directive and LORDSHIP of the HOLYSPIRIT. May the Lord Almight help us to make a right DECISION.

Touching Photos: Pope Francis Shows His Incredible Humility

In a moving image that conveys compassion and humanity, Pope Francis was pictured yesterday tenderly comforting a man suffering from a rare disease that has caused him to develop neuronal tumors all over his body.

Following his general audience in St. Peter’s Square, Pope Francis kissed and blessed the man, whose face was covered in tumors, as he closed his eyes in prayer. According to the Catholic News Agency the man was suffering from neurofibromatosis, an illness that can lead to impaired vision, learning impairment and can be extremely painful.
The disease is genetic and is not contagious. During his earlier address at the Vatican the Pope had asked people to pray for a sick girl that he had just met. Pope Francis has made humility the cornerstone of his Papacy so far and has a stated aim of making the church more inclusive.
