OPEN YOUR MOUTH WIDE

I am the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. - Psalm 81:10
The movie "Blank Check" tells the story of a young man who finds a blank cheque complete with the signature! His imagination begins to run wild.
He thinks about cashing the cheque for $1,000 then $10,000. He finally decides to make the cheque out for $1 million dollars.
The boy takes the cheque to the bank to have it cashed. Now we all know that in order to cash a cheque the money has to be in the account. Amazingly the cheque is good and he leaves the bank with $1 million cash!
God's promises are like the blank cheque that the young man found. As we read the Bible we find many promises that the Lord has left for us to claim.
Through those promises, we are able to draw on the limitless supply of God's account in heaven.
From Genesis to Revelation, there are blank cheques to cover our health, peace, marriage, children, labour or any other area of our lives.
Some find their 'blank cheque' as they study God's word for their daily devotion; others find their cheque as they listen to the preaching of the word or as they read an inspired Christian book.
Each of those promises are made up of simple words but behind those simple words are the power that created the entire universe.
Like the young boy, you can decide how much you want to claim from the promises of God. You receive according to the level of your faith and trust in the Lord.
Will you limit God's power, or believe Him without reservation?
The cheque is in your hands; write the amount you want.
Prayer: Lord, I believe in Your promises and claim them in the name of Jesus.
Scriptural Reading: Psalm 81:1-16

THE ULTIMATE QUESTION

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honour and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. - Philippians 2:9-11
Then Jesus spoke to His disciples about His impending death and resurrection, it was lost in translation.
They didn't seem to understand. They envisioned Jesus establishing His earthly kingdom where they would rule and reign with Him.
Jesus was about to reveal something to His disciples which they had not understood up to this point, and it was simply this: He would die on a cross.
There would be a crucifixion before there will be the glory. So Jesus posed a very important question to them: "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"
This question is still being posed to us today, and it is the most important question anyone ever will respond to.
There are really only four options, four responses to that great question Christ posed.
Either Jesus was a legend, a liar, a lunatic, or the Lord.
We know that He was not a legend, because there is more than enough historical evidence to clearly confirm that Jesus Christ lived and died at a marked point in time.
Others will say that He was lying about everything He said, while others would say that He was mad.
But we have to respond to this question Jesus posed. And ultimately everyone everywhere will say that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Christians, skeptics, agnostics, atheists, everyone - regardless of their religion - eventually will say that Jesus Christ is Lord when they stand before God.
Prayer: O Lord, You are my Lord and Saviour. You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
Scriptural Reading: Philippians 2:1-11

Prayer for the new week

The Almighty God will surely give you reasons to thank Him. You will not die before your time.
The Almighty God will smile on you and you will rejoice all the days of your life in Jesus mighty name!
"When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them." Psalms 126:1-2 (KJV) I pray that God will restore all your lost glories and belongings in Jesus name.

FREEDOM

Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? -
Romans 6:16
Whose slave are you? You may think you are your own person, the master of your own destiny. But in reality, each of us yields or gives ourselves to someone or something.
We are all slaves of someone or something. You are either a slave of God or a slave of sin. What a glory to be a slave of God!
The Bible says in Romans 6:22, "But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life."
This word "slave" was translated from a Greek word that would have been readily understood in that culture.
It referred to a slave who had been bought at the slave market then granted freedom by their new masters. In other words, the master would purchase that slave and then set him or her free.
Slaves who were so thankful to their masters for such a compassionate gesture and wanted to voluntarily serve them would be designated as a "bondslave".
They are slaves by choice. The grateful slave was not a slave for pay or a slave out of fear, but a slave by choice. That is what Paul said he was, and that is also what we ought to be.
Becoming a slave of God has some glorious benefits:
• You are set free from sin. You bear the fruit of holiness (joy, peace, righteousness).
• You receive everlasting life. Whose slave are you? Are you the slave of God or the slave of sin? The choice is up to you.
Prayer: Lord, I yield myself to You as Your bondservant.
Scriptural Reading: Romans 6:15-23

IN HIS STRENGTH

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Ephesians 6:10
Just as police officers call for back-up when they sense that danger is imminent, the first thing we must realize about spiritual battle is that in our own strength, we are no match for the devil.
I think a healthy respect of our adversary is in order for believers today. We don't want to underestimate him, nor do we want to overestimate him. We want to accurately assess who he is and what his abilities are.
We need to recognize that he is powerful; we don't want to try and take him on in our own strength.
Sometimes you hear some preachers calling the devil silly little names, laughing at him, or making jokes about him.
But we must remember what Jude 9 says: "Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, `The Lord rebuke you!'
Even the high-ranking Archangel Michael did not dare to condemn the devil with mockery. He simply said, "The Lord rebuke you!" There was a respect of the enemy.
The reason we need to "be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" is that Satan wants to get us away from that. It is our power base. He wants to separate us from God, because the moment he gets us away from Him, we become an easy prey.
Thus, the devil wants to put a wedge between God and us. The only power that can defeat Satan is the power of Jesus Christ. Be strong in the Lord. Stay close to Him. Never let anything come between you and the Lord.
Prayer: Lord, draw me closer to you so that I will be strong in you and in the power of your might.
Scriptural Reading: Ephesians 6:10-20

GOD IS FAITHFUL

Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments. Deuteronomy 7:9
Too often Christians think that being children of God makes them immune to the attacks of the devil or that the storms of life would just bypass them.
Exactly the opposite is true. I have seen those who turn their backs on God and walk out of the church because God didn't stop the storm from coming against them. Surely the storms of life will come.
hey will often come when you least expect them. That makes them a better test of your faith. We would all like it if the troubles that we will face were known before they happened so that we could plan better, but that's not faith. God wants to see how you will react in the times of trouble.
Will you react in faith and trust, or doubt and fear? When the enemy comes in like a flood against you, where will you turn to?
The reality of our walk with the Lord is that He never abandons us even when we feel abandoned.
The God on the mountain is still God in the valley. When things go wrong, He will make them right. The God of the good times is still God in the bad times.
The God of the day, is still God in the night. Thank God, He's still God — and nothing is too hard for Him! Thank God for his faithfulness!
Thank God for his promise to never leave us! Thank God for his power to heal, to bless, to forgive and to wash us from all sin!
Thank God for supplying our every need! Thank God for his love, His mercy and goodness.
Prayer: I thank You Lord, that in all situations You remain faithful.
Scriptural Reading: Deuteronomy 7:1-11

DON'T WORRY

"Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' Matthew 6:31
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus had specific things to say about worry and anxiety. He said, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?" (Matthew 6:25-27) Why shouldn't we worry?
First of all, God, your Father loves you so much that He will not withhold anything good from you.
Your Heavenly Father will take care of you. Jesus points to the birds. You've never seen a bird sweat, have you? Birds are singing, rejoicing and praising God.
Certainly, they need to go out and gather their food. They do their part to get what they need. But they don't worry about it. The point Jesus is making is that if God cares for the birds, will He not take care of you?
The answer obviously is yes, He will. Second, worry does not bring about anything productive in your life. It is a destructive emotion. It doesn't lengthen your life and can even potentially shorten it.
The next time you are tempted to worry about something, channel all of the energy you would have put into worry and put it into prayer instead. Say, "Lord, here is my problem. I am putting it in your hands. I am going to trust you."
Prayer: Lord, I cast all my burdens on you because I know you care for me.
Scriptural Reading: Matthew 6:25-34

THERE IS FORGIVENESS FOR YOU

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8-9
'There are millions of people on this planet who think that because, in their own opinion, they are basically good, they have no need for a saviour or for forgiveness of sins.
Such people never reach out to receive God's offer of forgiveness because they are unable to bring themselves to acknowledge their own sinfulness. "
After all," they will say, "I've never killed anybody. I do my job, pay my bills, try to help my fellow man, and I'm a productive member of society. At least I'm not a thief or prostitute."
They say this, but they don't see how their lives are filled with bitterness, or envy, or gossip, or resentment, or self-righteousness, or pride, or hate, or jealousy-they don't see how sin has corrupted them and driven a wedge between themselves and a holy God.
As a result they go through life thinking, 'I'm not that bad; in fact, I'm better than most'. God's forgiveness is not based on how much we deserve forgiveness. It is based on His grace and our willingness to ask for forgiveness. Do you want to be forgiven?
Then go to God, in sincerity, asking to be forgiven of your sins. If you ask Him to forgive you, He will do just that for you.
Receiving forgiveness is an act of faith. You don't wait for a feeling to confirm it; you ask for it and by faith you accept it.
Trust God to keep His promise. He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

Prayer: Have mercy on me O Lord and cleanse away my sins.
Scriptural Reading: 1 John 1:1-10

TWENTY-FOUR HOUR MIRACLE

Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph's hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. Genesis 41:42
Overnight, God turned around the life of Joseph from an abandoned and rejected immigrant to a favoured and respected leader.
He had suffered from the jealousy of his brothers, the malice of his boss' wife and the abuse of prison life.
Considering the apparent retrogression of his life, the obvious conclusion was that Joseph was headed for a life of frustration and bitterness.
At almost every turn of his life, something had gone wrong. One day the routine and pattern of his life was interrupted. God stepped into the cycle of frustration and restarted a new pattern of blessing for him.
This was not a random act of God. It was simply the appointed time for Joseph to begin reaping the rewards of all the years of faithfulness and service that had previously gone unrewarded.
• Joseph's hands which a few hours ago had been in prison chains now wore the king's signet ring.
• Joseph's clothes which a few hours ago were general prison issue, were now of royal designer quality.
• Joseph's neck which a few hours ago bore burdens in prison was now adorned with a beautiful gold chain. In less than twenty-four hours, God took everything that was a shame and a reproach to Joseph and replaced it with honour.
He is still in the transformation business and will turn your life from shame to honour.
Today can be your day of breakthrough. All things are possible with God. Expect a miracle today!
Prayer: Thank You Lord, for Your power to turn my shame into honour and blessing.
Scriptural Reading: Genesis 41:37-57

Prayer for new week

This season, all of Gods creation will cooperate with you to have your blessings, promotion, breakthroughs and desired miracles. May God bless your home; bless you in all your works, in all that you lay your hands on. May God give you of the dew of heaven and of the fatness of the earth in Jesus mighty name.

The Almighty God will bring testimonies out of whatever u are going through now.God will suddenly terminate the appointment of everyone frustrating u in your place of work. Though u have not achieved anything so far this year, but God will give u a sudden miracle that will make u to remember this year for ever in Jesus Name.
 Happy new week folks.

PRAISE GOD ALWAYS

Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. - Hebrews 13:15
There are times when it feels like a real sacrifice to offer praises to God. There are times when it feels like God has taken sides with those who are against us.
When we are down, depressed, and things seem not to go the way we expected, praising and giving thanks to God is not the joyous experience it should be. These are times when you don't feel like praising God.
Yet the Bible is filled with admonition after admonition to give glory, praise and thanks to God. This is because God is good all the time, no matter our circumstance.
Notice that the Bible does not say, "Give thanks to the Lord when you feel good." Rather, it says, "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!"
We don't praise God because we feel good. We praise God because He is worthy, regardless of what we may be going through.
Even in our darkest moments, God still remains a good God. Most often it is in our darkest moments that we experience the awesome power of praise.
In the book of Acts, we read of Paul and Silas who were arrested, beaten and thrown into a dungeon for preaching the Gospel. At midnight, Paul and Silas started praying and singing songs of praises to God.
Suddenly, there was a great earthquake such that the foundation of the prison was shaken. The chains of all the prisoners were broken, and all the prison gates were thrown open. That is what the sacrifice of praise can do in your life.
It can pull down any stronghold and break every yoke in your life. So, no matter what you may be going through, don't stop giving God the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving.
Prayer: Lord, give me the attitude of praise and thanksgiving.
Scriptural Reading: Hebrews 13:7-17

BE HUMBLE

God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:5
The eyes of LORD" is a theme running throughout Scripture. Take, for example, the familiar words of 2 Chronicles 16:9, "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him."
Obviously, God doesn't have physical eyes; God is spirit. He doesn't need physical eyes, because He's also omniscient. Nothing escapes His notice.
He's aware of all things. But though He's aware of everything, He's also searching for something in particular, something that acts like a magnet to capture His attention and invite His active involvement. God is decisively drawn to humility.
The person who is humble is the one who draws God's attention, and in this sense, drawing His attention means also attracting His grace — His unmerited kindness.
Think about that: There's something you can do to attract more of God's gracious, underserved, supernatural strength and assistance!
What a promise! Contrary to popular and false belief, it's not "those who help themselves" whom God helps; it's those who humble themselves.
This is the promise of humility. God is personally and providentially supportive of the humble. And the grace He extends to the humble is indescribably rich.
As Jonathan Edwards wrote, "The pleasures of humility are really the most refined, inward, and exquisite delights in the world."
We want to position ourselves to receive and experience those exquisite pleasures.
Why don't you make it your goal to pursue the virtue of humility and therefore attract God's attention and favour?
Prayer: Thank You, Father, for Your grace to be humble.
Scriptural Reading: 1 Peter 5:5-11

DON'T PUT YOUR TRUST IN MAN

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. Psalm 118:8-9
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. The electrical power of a hotel was interrupted resulting in the elevator stopping between floors with passengers aboard.
One of the passengers on the elevator began to beat on the door and to shout for the people in the hallway above to do something quickly to get him out.
One of the people in the hallway attempted to calm the stranded passenger with the assurance that help would soon arrive. He shouted, 'The hotel has a generator system to back up the power.

The maintenance man will soon have power restored to the building and the elevator will be opened.' Then the anxious passenger shouted back, "But I am the maintenance man!"
Sometimes we trust in people to solve our problems when the people themselves are trapped in their own problems.
On the outward, they may appear very competent and capable but in private, they could just be people of straw who are incapable of solving their own problems.
God desires that we trust Him totally in all areas of our lives. Yes, we will have to deal with people in all human activities but we must not make them the object of our trust and hope.
Even though people can have the best intentions for us, we must always remember that they are just humans and limited in what they can do for us.
We express our confidence in the Lord by:
• Going to Him in prayer constantly
• Believing His promises without wavering Trusting in His timing and purposes
Prayer: O Lord, in you alone I put my trust, for my help comes from you alone.
Scriptural Reading: Psalm 118:1-9

SHOW GRATITUDE

Although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. - Romans 1:21
A hospital chaplain kept a record of some 2,000 patients whom he had visited at a hospital. All of these patients who were at the point of death were very responsive to the word of God.
Among those restored to health, he observed that only two showed a marked change in their spiritual lives after their recovery.
In other words, when these people thought they would die, they accepted the Word of God and prayed for His healing grace.
But when they recovered, they forgot about God. That is how we can be sometimes. We cry out to God. He answers our prayers.
Then we forget about Him. We rejoice in the blessing so much that we forget the one who blessed us.
We delight so much in the gift we forget the giver. But the giver is more important than the gift. And nothing hinders our blessing more than ingratitude.
The point is, we need to put as much zeal in thanking God for what He has done for us as we put into pleading with Him when we are in need.
In the Gospel of Luke, we read the story of the ten lepers who came to Jesus and pleaded for His mercy. The Lord instructed them to go and show themselves to the priests. As they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.
The Bible says only one of them returned to Jesus to give thanks. Then Jesus asked, "Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Of the ten, only one came to give glory and praise to God.
What would you think of a person who always come to you for assistance, but never offer a word of thanks in return?
Is there anything in your life that you need to give thanks for? Count your blessings and thanks to God.
Prayer: Father, forgive me for my lack of gratitude.
Scriptural Reading: Romans 1:21

LEARN TO THRIVE IN EVERY SEASON

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. - Ecclesiastes 3:1
To really enjoy life, you must know how to handle time and the different seasons that you will go through. Change is constant in life.
Every day, week, month and year introduces new things in your life. You will not be on a constant high; neither will you be on a constant low. There will be seasons of dryness and seasons of fruitfulness.
Each season has its purpose and works to make you appreciate God's grace towards you in different situations. When you are up, He is there with you and when you are down, He also stays with you. Place the seasons of your life in God's hands.
Ask God to transform your attitudes and bring positive results out of negative situations as you travel through life's seasons.
Rely on God's unchanging power in the midst of changes you experience in all aspects of your life.
Rather than battling the season you currently find yourself in, ask God what He wants you to learn from it, and trust Him to give you the encouragement and strength you need. Know that, while life is unpredictable, your faith in God will always stand. Use your time wisely.
Regularly remind yourself of how fragile and fleeting life on earth can be, and that every day is a gift from God. Don't fall into the traps of being lazy or too driven, missing out on God's best for you.
Ask God to give you wisdom to use your time each day as He would like you to use it, according to His purposes for your life.
Prayer: Lord, I thank You that wherever I am, You are there with me; help me to trust You daily.
Scriptural Reading: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
