Health: Do You Desire a Long and Healthy Hair, That will Grow 2 Times Faster

With The Help Of This Recipe Your Hair Will Grow A Lot FasterDo you desire to have long, dense and shiny hair? We have the right recipe for you. Did you know that a juice from the ordinary red onions certainly can help to reduce hair loss, stop the growth of gray hair and at the same time to speed up hair growth and improve its quality?
The speed of the hair growth definitely depends on the genes, but due to various external and internal factors, our hair does not grow with its maximum speed.
In this situations some homemade remedies, whose recipes have been passed down from generation to generation, can be very useful.
The method with red onions is apparently very effective, and is even used by many celebrities from Hollywood.
In a number of separate studies it is proven that red onions prevent hair loss in 87% of cases. And you will also be surprised from the looks of your hair within just a month.
Dermatologists say that there are no bad consequences for the scalp or hair.
Red onions is exceptional because it is rich with sulfur, which stimulates the production of collagen, which is very important for hair growth. The juice from red onions is good for improving the blood circulation to the scalp. Also, reduces any possible inflammation of the skin, because it has antibacterial properties.
This juice makes your hair stronger, opens the hair follicles and prevents infection on the scalp.
Those who have applied this method say that it shows results after only one month!

Clean and slice two to four onions and squeeze their juice. You can also use a blender to squeeze their juice. Or even the best and the easiest is to use a juicer. Add 1 tablespoon of honey in this juice and mix it well. Read here
Massage your scalp with the juice for a while and then leave it for about 15-30 minutes. The smell is strong but worth the effort. You can keep it up to an hour, if you do not rush. After this treatment, wash your hair as you normally would. It is necessary to apply this treatment two to three times a month.

I would like to say that while grading my students’ essays there is never a dull moment, but that would be an absolute lie.
Mostly grading students’ essays is a boring, excruciating job. It makes me rethink my college career path, my desire to be a teacher, and life in general. Essays written by twelve year old are life sucking.
But then there are moments, just a line or two, that flip switches. Maybe not in the students’ heads–they still don’t seem to remember to indent a new paragraph or to not use abbreviations in formal writing–but a switch, a light bulb, will go off in my head and, like dominoes, one thing leads to another and then there we are.
It’s not fair that people with disabilities get judged by how they look. Some adults don’t get soul mates because of how they are looked at. -Makenzie, 7th grader
There are about a million different ways I could go right now. Those two sentences are so full of confusion and discussion points, I could probably make those lines a series of posts, but where I’m going has to do with “soul mates.” The first thing I wanted to do was run home and tell my children–my daughters–that soul mates aren’t real. That this isn’t something to dream about, something to wish and hope for. Because it will let you down and make all your real, healthy, and sometimes-disappointing relationships feel less than. The only thing stopping me from this conversation is that my daughters are three and five. They think they’re going to grow up and marry their daddy. They’re not sure if they’ll be the husband or the wife though because those are confusing words to remember. In our house gender roles are the exact opposite of societal norms. I don’t want them to know how our house works isn’t “normal.” I don’t want them to think one way is normal, I want them to figure out what works best for their world when they finally get to make their own.
But I don’t want them to long for, look for, or hold out hope for their soul mate. Because they will always be let down. Chris Graham is not my soul mate. He is my husband, my best friend, my lover, my favorite person to talk to, my biggest cheerleader, and my family.
But he does not complete me, fill me up, or make my world.
finding a soul mate 1
He challenges me, encourages me, and talks me down off cliffs, but he isn’t the end-all-be-all of my world. That is a dangerous thing to ask of a relationship because I’m in love with and married to a flawed man. And he married a really flawed Mary. The idea that I can complete the hole he has in his heart, this want for something to fill him up, is wrong and destined to be painful. Because that hole isn’t of this world. That want and need we have for someone to know us, really know us, will never be satisfied while we’re here on earth.
And I think that idea, that lie we’ve been sold, damages so many relationships, ends marriages, and leaves countless people unhappy when they’ll truly never be happy.

I love my husband. I think he’s pretty awesome or I wouldn’t have married him and had some babies with him. He makes my life more interesting, makes me better, and loves me even when I’m not very lovable (which is a lot of the time). I picked a good one, for sure. And I’m glad he’s in my life.
you are not my soul mate
But if I hadn’t met him, I think my life would still be pretty good. I wasn’t waiting for someone else to come along and rescue me from my horrible existence. I had a good existence before him. I was loved and cared for and fought for by a Father that made me whole in a way no one else could.
Soon I’m going to let my daughters in on the “soul mate” secret. That it’s made up and dangerous and unrealistic. That their God loves them more than any man ever could and that no one will ever come along and complete them the way they long to be completed. Their longing isn’t of this world. But that isn’t to say I don’t want them to find amazing husbands one day. It’s something I pray about often, asking God to be molding those young men–wherever they are–to be good mates for my girls, to be strong men of God, to have character above everything else. But that they don’t look to complete a girl’s life, either. That they’re pretty good on their own and then they meet one of my amazing daughters and they’ll want to do life together. And serve God together. Because He’s their soul mate. He’s their whole. source:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. - Ephesians 1:3
To be a child of God is to be a blessed person. When we make Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour, we enter into a covenant relationship of blessing with God.
This is blessing we receive as a result of our relationship and not as a reward for our efforts. In Christ Jesus, we inherit divine blessing through grace.
• Our blessing covers all things: God has made provision for everything we will ever need and has prepared resources for these needs in advance. For every challenge that will ever face us in life, the Lord has made provision ready and waiting.
• Our blessing is spiritual: God's provision for us starts as a spiritual reality which we must believe for and pray into manifestation in the natural realm at the appropriate time.
• Our blessing is in heavenly places: God's provision for us is based on His resources in heaven. He is not limited by our earthly limitations and so we can trust Him for supply even when our earthly circumstances appears hopeless.
• Our blessing is in Christ: God's provision is available because of what Christ accomplished through the sacrifice of His life on the cross and His ongoing ministry as our High Priest at the right hand of the Father.
It is only in Him that we are able to fully lay hold on all the benefits the Father has made available to us.
Prayer: I thank You Heavenly Father, for all the many blessings You have prepared in advance for me this day.

What Causes Your eyes to burn and turn red while swimming Not Chlorine

Think it's chlorine that causes your eyes to redden and sting after an afternoon in the community pool? The truth is much more gross: it's urine mixing with the chemicals.
"When we go swimming and we complain that our eyes are red, it's because swimmers have peed in the water," says Michele Hlavsa, chief of the CDC's healthy swimming program. "The nitrogen in the urine combines with the chlorine and it forms what's known as chloramine and it's actually chloramine that causes the red eyes. It's not the chlorine itself. It's chlorine mixed with poop and sweat and a lot of other things we bring into the water with us."In fact, Hlavsa says, the stronger the chlorine smell at a pool, the more filled with pee it is. Healthy pools don't smell like chemicals.
Anyone thinking chlorine's job is to clean their personal pee from a swimming pool, should know that chlorine can't even begin to deal with your pee. Its plate is full with E. coli and other germs. Once people start adding pee, poop, sweat, and dirt to the equation, it starts to try to tackle those instead, leaving it with little energy for anything else, says Hlavsa.
This isn't news to experts like Hlavsa. "I just don't think this is on people's radars," she says. "People think waterborne disease is something that happens outside the United States. But really, we have plenty of them here."
If you own your own pool, the CDC urges that you test the water. "Buy a pool tester," says Hlavsa. "You can get them at big box stores, pool supply stores and hardware stores. You're looking at both the chlorine level and the pH. The chlorine level you're looking for is 1 to 3 ppm. The pH should be between 7.2 to 7.8. The pH is important because it determines how effective that chlorine is."
And, as far as chlorine is concerned, how's this for a not-so-fun fact? Cryptosporidium, a germ that causes diarrhea, can live in chemical-treated water for ten days, says Hlavsa.
So, now that we know all this. What do we do? Stay out of pools forever?
"We don't' want to scare people away from swimming," says Hlavsa. "It's just about doing it in a healthier and safer way. We go biking and we wear helmets. We go in the car and we put our seatbelts on. We're just saying, this is a healthier way to swim."

Shower before getting into the water.

Take a solid minute to wash dirt and germs off. Also, rinse off your body again when you leave the water.

Got diarrhea or other bowel issues? Stay out of the water.

Is this asking so much?

Don't pee or poop in the water!

We've heard this this since we were kids. If you have kids, nag them too. Also, keep in mind, a toddler's swim diapers aren't leak proof.

Don't swallow the water.

Don't even put it in your mouth. Are you even tempted to anymore?
As yucky as this info is is, pools and waterparks can still be a fun part of everyone's summer if they follow the CDC's suggestions. Source:

For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. - 1 Corinthians 1:22-24
Sometimes we may think, If only I could perform a miracle for my friends, I know they would all become Christians. But I don't think that is true. Even when Jesus walked on this earth and performed so many miracles so many signs so many still did not believe.
Lazarus was a living, breathing miracle man who had been dead and was alive again. So the leading priests wanted to kill Lazarus too (see John 12:10-11).
As a Christian, you are a miracle man or woman. You have a testimony of what God has done for you, and that is why people oppose you and ridicule you.
Our sign to a lost world is Jesus crucified, risen again from the dead, and alive. The apostle Paul said, And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified" (1 Corinthians 2:1-2).
We don't need to add to this message or take away from it. We don't need to apologize for it. We just need to proclaim it and watch God do His thing.
Paul also said, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek" (Romans 1:16).
That word "power" speaks of explosive, dynamite power. There is explosive power in the message of Christ. This is our sign to a lost world.
Prayer: Ask the Lord to empower you to be a living testimony of His glory.

One day the Pharisees and Sadducees came to test Jesus, demanding that he show them a miraculous sign from heaven to prove his authority. - Matthew 16:1
The phrase "signs of the times" actually was coined by Jesus. One day, the Pharisees and Sadducees approached Jesus together, which was quite remarkable, because these two groups didn't get along. They didn't mix. They didn't hang out together. They were polar opposites on the theological spectrum.
But the one thing they had in common was their hatred for Jesus. So they came to Him to test Him and demand a miracle. Now they had already seen a boatload of miracles.
They had seen Jesus cast out demons and calm storms and heal the sick and feed thousands of people and even raise the dead.
Yet they had the audacity to demand another sign. After all Jesus had done, after all of the miracles He performed, they were coming to Him and demanding another sign.
So Jesus told them, "You know the saying, Red sky at night means fair weather tomorrow; red sky in the morning means foul weather all day. You know how to interpret the weather signs in the sky, but you don't know how to interpret the signs of the times!
Only an evil, adulterous generation would demand a miraculous sign, but the only sign I will give them is the sign of the prophet Jonah." (Matthew 16:2-4)
In other words, "You can read the weather. Why can't you read the signs of the times?"
How often do people worry about whether it will rain or not, yet don't give a single serious thought about the signs of the end-time all around us? Why can't we see that the coming of the Lord is imminent?
Prayer: Ask the Lord for spiritual wisdom to understand the signs of our time.

Health: 20 Unbelievable Reasons To Start Your Day With Water and Lemon.

Adding lemon to water not only quenches thirst better than any other beverage, but it also nourishes our body with vitamins, minerals and trace elements which we absolutely need. Lemon with water can be considered the best natural energy booster. When we wake up in the morning, our bodily tissues are dehydrated and are in need of water to push out toxins and rejuvenate the cells. In other words, this homemade “lemonade” helps eliminate internal toxins, regulating proper kidney and digestive tract functions by forcing them to work as smoothly as possible.
  1. Water with lemon provides the body with electrolytes which hydrate your body. As lemons contain good amount of electrolytes such as potassium, calcium and magnesium.
  2. Water with lemon is good for the joints, reducing pain in the joints and muscles.
  3. Warm water with lemon helps digestion as lemon contains citric acid. It interacts with other enzymes and acids which easily stimulate the secretion of gastric juice and digestion.
  4. The liver produces more enzymes from water with lemon than from any other food.
  5. Water with lemon cleanses the liver. Lemon juice stimulates the liver to release toxins.
  6. Water with Lemon helps fight infections of the respiratory tract, sore throats and inflammation of the tonsils. This is due to the anti-inflammatory properties of lemon.
  7. Warm water with lemon helps regulate natural bowel movement.
  8. Water with lemon is indispensable for the normal work of metabolism. Since lemon is a powerful antioxidant, it protects the body from free radicals and strengthens the immune system.
  9. Water with lemon aids in proper functioning of the nervous system (as lemon  has a high content of potassium). Depression and anxiety are often the result of low levels of potassium in the blood. The nervous system needs a sufficient amount of potassium to ensure sustainable signals to the heart.

At the same time, due to the high content of potassium, a mixture of water with lemon helps forming cells of the brain and nervous system of the baby.
  16. Water with lemon relieves heartburn. For this, mix a teaspoon of lemon juice in half a glass of water.
  17. Water with lemon helps dissolve gallstones,  kidney stones, pancreatic stones, and calcium deposits.
  18. Water with lemon helps with weight loss.  Lemons contain pectin fiber, which helps suppress hunger cravings. Studies have proven  people with a better alkaline diet have lost weight faster.
  19. Water with lemon helps with tooth pain and gingivitis. read here

David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them. 'I cannot go in these,' he said to Saul, 'because I am not used to them.' So he took them off . - 1 Samuel 17:39
David, the young shepherd boy, heard the challenge from the Philistines to send someone to fight Goliath. No one volunteered to fight except David.
King Saul reluctantly agreed and offered David his armour. David put on the weighty equipment, but quickly concluded he could not fight in this heavy armour. He gave it back to Saul.
God equips each of us in such a way that is unique to our strengths and abilities. David knew who he was and who he wasn't. David was trained as a shepherd to use another weapon.
For David, it was a slingshot. David showed great maturity in realizing he could not be effective with Saul's armour.
What are the gifts and talents God has given to you? Have you ever tried to accomplish a task with tools you were not trained to use?
God allows each of us to develop skills that are unique to our life’s purpose. He will not call you to use someone else's tools.
However, this is only half of the equation. These talents must be mixed with faith. Talent alone is not enough.
Faith alone is not enough. It is only when the two are combined that God's power is released and manifested in the physical realm.
Sometimes we admire the talents of others and seek to emulate them. We are tempted to be someone we are not. This is a mistake.
Be happy to be the unique you. Then, mix your unique gifts with faith, and you will be surprised at the power of God that will be manifested through you.
Prayer: Thank God for making you unique and special.

The Only Comment on Dylann Roof’s Facebook Photo Will Bring You To Tears

Dylann Roof committed a heinous act on Wednesday night, killing nine at a church in Charleston. His ominous Facebook profile photo is being widely circulated.
Facebook post

There is one comment on that photo. It is from this man:

His name is Marcus Stanley. He is a 30-year-old, award winning gospel musician from Virginia. Marcus has also been shot, eight times. According to his website:
Marcus was shot 8 times at point blank range with a .45 caliber automatic weapon while touring as an initiation act by gang members. Due to the shooting, Marcus became temporarily paralyzed on his right side, lost the ability to walk, and leaving one bullet permanent lodged near his spine. With God’s grace and mercy, Marcus was successfully able to regain the strength to walk and recover most of the feeling in his right arm.
Here is the message he left for Dylann:

He gave him the plans of all that the Spirit had put in his mind for the courts of the temple of the LORD... 1 Chronicles 28:12
It is said of George Washington Carver that he got up early in the morning each day to walk alone and pray. He asked God how he was to spend his day and what He wanted to teach him that day.
Carver grew up at the close of the American Civil War in a one-room shanty on the home of Moses Carver- the man who owned his mother.
Carver grew up at the height of racial discrimination, yet he overcame all those obstacles to become one of the most influential men in the history of the United States.
He made many discoveries with the use of groundnuts and sweet potatoes. However, after he recommended farmers to plant groundnuts and sweet potatoes instead of cotton, he was led into his greatest trial.
The farmers lost even more money due to the lack of market demand for groundnuts and sweet potatoes.
Carver cried out to the Lord in prayer. Many years later, he shared that God led him back to his lab and worked with him to discover some 300 marketable products from groundnuts.
Likewise, he made over 100 discoveries from the sweet potatoes. These new products created a demand for groundnuts and sweet potatoes, and they were major contributors to rejuvenating the economy of Southern USA.
As he made new discoveries, he never became successful monetarily. But during his lifetime, he overcame great rejection for being black.
He was offered high income opportunities from Henry Ford, and he became friends with presidents of his day, yet he knew what God had called him to do.
His epitaph read: "He could have added fortune to fame, but caring for neither, he found happiness and honor in being helpful to the world."
Prayer: Pray for the spirit of wisdom and creativity to fully fulfil your purpose.

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. - John 15:4
Imagine if you planted a tree in your front yard, but after a while, you decide it would look better in your backyard.
Then after a few months, you realize it would be better in the front yard. So you dig it up and plant it again in the front yard. Not only will that tree fail to flourish, but it also will struggle to just survive. Eventually, it will die.
Yet some people are like that with God. They decide to go to church, read their Bible, and pray regularly. They do this for a month, and then they uproot themselves and disappear for a few months. Then they come back again. Then they uproot themselves and go back to the old life again.
Eventually they come back and are at it again. But they will never grow spiritually that way.
Jesus said, "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me". That is the secret of spiritual growth: to abide.
To abide means to stay in a given place. For believers, it means to maintain unbroken fellowship with God. It is regularity. It is consistency. And it results in producing lasting fruit.
Another way of abiding is walking with God. As 1 John 2:6 says, "He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked."
Walking speaks of consistent motion. That means making time for the Word of God and for prayer every day.
If you are too busy, then get up earlier. Go to bed earlier. You will find time for what is important. The true mark of conversion is the test of time and results in your life. Are you producing spiritual fruit?
Prayer: Declare by faith that you will always abide in the Lord and dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of your life.

Health: You’ve decided to give up diet soda good idea Read

8 Things That Happen When You Finally Stop Drinking Diet Soda

You’ve decided to give up diet soda good idea! Maybe you weren’t hitting your weight-loss goals or couldn’t stomach that long list of ingredients anymore. Or perhaps you heard one too many times that it’s just not good for you.
Whatever the reason, eliminating diet soda from your diet will improve your health from head to toe. Research on diet soda is still in its infancy, but there’s enough out there to identify what you can look forward to when you put down the can and cool down with an unsweetened iced tea instead.
Migraines disappear and focus sharpens.

It turns out the headaches you expected from a diet soda withdrawal didn’t materialize. And now that you’ve quit the stuff, you probably find yourself thinking clearly for the first time in a while. That’s because the chemicals that make up the artificial sweetener aspartame may have altered brain chemicals, nerve signals, and the brain’s reward system, which leads to headaches, anxiety, and insomnia, according to a review in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition. And a 2013 animal study found that rats that drank diet soda had damaged cells and nerve endings in the cerebellum the part of the brain responsible for motor skills.
Taste buds are more sensitive.
It’s not your imagination: Without your usual diet soda chaser, you may find that food has more flavor. It has subtlety. It’s more enjoyable. That’s because the artificial sweeteners in your diet soda overwhelmed your taste buds with an onslaught of sweetness. Aspartame ranks 200 hundreds times sweeter than table sugar. Splenda? 600 times. In fact, brain scans show that diet soda alters sweet receptors in the brain and prolongs sugar cravings rather than satisfies them. “We often see patients change snack choices when they give up diet soda,” says Heather Bainbridge, RD, from Columbia University Medical Center Weight Control Center. “Rather than needing sugary treats or something really salty like pretzels and chips, they reach for an apple and a piece of cheese. And, when they try diet soda again, they find it intolerably sweet.”
The scale finally goes the right way.

While you may have started drinking diet soda to facilitate weight loss, quitting it may actually do the trick. A recent 9-year study found older adults who drank diet soda continued to pack on belly fat. The study piggybacks on research that found each daily diet soda increases your chance of becoming obese in the next decade by 65%, and a study published in Diabetes Care that found drinking diet soft drinks daily was associated with an increase in metabolic syndrome—obesity, high blood-pressure, high triglycerides—which leads to heart disease and diabetes.
Bones strengthen.
Putting down the soda may be the best way to improve your bone strength and reduce your risk of fractures. One 2014 study found that each daily soda increased the chance of hip fracture by 14% for postmenopausal women. And another found that older women who drank cola had lower bone mineral density in their hips. The jury is still out on why soda has this effect, but the science pretty clearly suggests that a soda habit weakens your bones.
Your attitude towards food changes.
Since diet sodas have no calories, people drinking them often feel it’s okay to indulge elsewhere, finds Bainbridge. Often she sees her diet soda-drinking patients make poor food choices, like a burger and fries, a piece of cake, or potato chips, because they think they can afford those extra calories. Plus, soda often accompanies unhealthy foods. “Sometimes those poor choices are built up habits,” she says. “You’re conditioned to have soda with chips, fries, or something sweet. When you eliminate the soft drink, you also break the junk food habit.”
You handle booze better

It’s a fact: Diet soda gets you drunk faster. When you mix it with alcohol, your stomach empties out faster than if you used regular soda, causing a drastic increase in blood alcohol concentrations, according to an Australian study in theAmerican Journal of Medicine. And when you add caffeine, look out. Another study in the journal Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research found that bar patrons who mixed drinks with diet colas were intoxicated much more easily and frequently. Your best bet for a mixer? Club soda, which is naturally sugar- and calorie-free.
Fat storage and diabetes risk decreases.
Our hormones may explain the great paradox of why people gain weight when they switch to diet soda. A study in Diabetes Care found that drinking two-thirds of a diet soda before eating primed the pancreas to release a lot of the fat-storing hormone insulin. When the pancreas is overworked from creating insulin to control blood-sugar levels, diabetes rears its ugly head. And a recent study in Japan found that middle-aged men who drank 1 or more diet sodas daily were much more likely to develop type 2 diabetes over a 7-year period. source:
Kidney function improves.
Now that your body no longer has to make sense of the unpronounceable ingredients in diet soda, your kidneys can get back to clearing toxins, stabilizing blood pressure, and absorbing minerals. One study looked at 11 years of data and found that women who drank 2 or more servings of diet soda doubled their chances of declining kidney function.

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. - 1 Timothy 6:17
When Jesus said, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth" (Matthew 6:19), the term "lay up" did not simply speak of having possessions, but of your possessions having you.
"Lay up" could be better translated "hoard" or "stockpile." Jesus was not saying that it is wrong to have things. He was warning against becoming materialistic-letting things become more important than God.
God created us to love people and use things, but a materialist loves things and uses people. There is nothing wrong with having possessions and a successful career.
The apostle Paul wrote, "Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy".
God can bless a person. In fact, we read in the Bible of those who had wealth, such as Abraham, Job, David, Joseph of Arimathea, Mary, and Barnabas.
Jesus did not extol poverty as some great virtue. In fact, only one time did He tell someone-the rich young ruler-to sell his possessions and give to the poor.
I think it was because that man was possessed by his possessions. Because when Jesus said, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me" (Matthew 19:21), the Bible says that he went away sorrowful. It was a test to see whether God was more important to him than his things.
Money is not the root of all evil; the love of it is. The problem with wealth is not in having it. It is how we get it. It is how we guard it.
And it is how we use it. So love God with all your heart, seek His Kingdom, and love people. These are true riches.
Prayer: Ask the Lord to give you the grace of giving.

Relationship:5 things your husband needs every day

  • Understanding each other's needs is vital to the long term health and happiness of your marriage.
This list isn't meant to be comprehensive or universally applicable to every single marriage (because we're all unique), but I do believe these "needs" represent the vast majority of men.
  • 1. The need to feel respected

A man's need for respect is every bit as strong as his need for sex. Even in those moments when he doesn't "deserve" your respect, still give it and you'll be affirming him and bringing out the best in him. Ironically, your husband usually needs your respect the most in those moments when he "deserves" it the least. In marriage, disagreements are inevitable but disrespect is optional.
  • 2. The need for reflection

Most men have a hard-wired need for daily silent reflection. They need to unplug and decompress. This isn't an excuse to lounge on a recliner all night drinking beer and watching Sportscenter, but do your best to give your husband some time daily to have a few moments of uninterrupted time to reflect and decompress.
  • 3. The need for sex

The husband doesn't always have a stronger drive than the wife, but most men list "sexual fulfillment and frequency" as their number one or number two need in marriage. "Daily" intercourse may not be possible or practical, but make frequency a priority.
  • 4. The need to feel productive

Men can gain deep levels of satisfaction, energy and self-respect from what they "produce" daily through their career and/or service. Men want to know their work is making a positive difference. Affirm your husband's work inside and outside the home and look for ways to encourage and support his endeavors.
  • 5. The need to feel strong

Every little boy wants to grow up and be a "superhero" and grown men still hold those same desires to be strong and heroic. Regardless of how much (or little) we can bench press or the size of our love handles, we want to feel like powerful protectors of our families. A wife's words and actions have the power to make a husband feel like a hero, so build him up and help him become the best version of himself. Read here.
