“KONJI” What’s It All About? READ! READ!! READ!!!

Ever heard the saying ‘Konji is a bastard’ now before we start rolling our eyes and forming spiritual, let’s get one thing straight; I am also born again, spirit filled self. But enough of behaving as if it doesn’t happen to us, let’s get real, after all the bible says in 1st John 1 :8, that if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. For those that don’t even know what Konji is, let me try and explain. Konji is a slang used especially among young people to describe a state of being horny or actively lustful, that is seeking sexual gratification.
A few things we should know about Konji is that:
1) It is no respecter of persons, position, title, degrees. (I think that is why it is called a bastard)
2) It is a SIN. Matthew 5:28- don’t look at a woman lustfully. For girls imagining how good the brother might be in bed, repent before it is too late.
3) The fact that it happens to us all does not stop it from being wrong. 1st Corinthians 6:12 (tm) says ‘just because something is technically legal, doesn’t mean that it is spiritually appropriate’.
4) It is an expression of what is in our hearts.
How to deal with Konji
I am no expert, but I have a few tips that I think might work.
1) Guard your heart like a ninja: Stop planting and watering sexual seeds in your life and expecting them not to yield fruit. Watching pornography, gisting about hot girls and cute guys and reading romance novels are not helping matters. Ever tried doing quiet time, and the scene from the movie you watched the previous night where those people were touching refuses to leave you mind? (God catch you!). Proverbs 4:23
2) Have the word of God in your heart: psalm 119:11. Galatians 5:16-18.
3) Flee every form of evil: 1st Tess 5:22. If a babe is walking in front of you with tiny skirt, or wearing a top that is showing the overflow of physical gifts in her life, or if a guy is running his hand through your hair, and it is exciting you, stop forming cool, run away, or better still as the angel put it to Lot in Genesis 19:17, ‘escape for thy life’.
4) Pray about it: there is no part of your life that God doesn’t care about: He created you, so He knows how you are feeling. Stop forming holy for God, you can never be holier than Him. So if you are feeling horny, tell him to teach you how to deal with it, and to cleanse your mind, after all, it is Him who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Phil 2:13.
5) Now, my dear sisters lets help our brothers: It is not until you wear spaghetti and bum shorts that you are indecent. You know that dress you wear that doesn’t allow them concentrate. Maybe you should sow it into a smaller person’s life.
6) For those that are in relationships: we should be extra careful, stop spending unprotected time alone with him. Some clowns even say they want to spend the night with the brother, and ‘nothing is going to happen, he’ll keep to his side of the bed. {I laugh in soprano}. Please let’s stop setting traps for ourselves
7) Get married: To those that have already yielded to the temptation of Konji at one point or the other, it’s not too late. 1st john 1:9 says, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Seeking counseling is also a good idea.
To those that are judging and gossiping about those in sexual sins, your hell is not any cooler than theirs if you don’t repent. Let’s help each other; one person’s downfall affects us all.
As young ambassador of Christ, we ought to be examples, 1st timothy 4:12. That means we even have to be more careful, and the stakes are higher for us, 1st Corinthians 9:27. But I am not worried, because I know we have a father that is able to keep us from stumbling,

The Tale Of Talent

The tale of talents is the tale of maximization of ability! God does not give you what you can't handle. The story of the talent depicts God's ability to try the reins of the heart. What you have now is a function of what you can handle. If you are complaining about what you have now, you will complain even if He gives you more without using it well. Do you make the best of your talents in different areas of your life?

Career/Business: Do you know that what you are talented in comes easier that what you are trained for? In choosing your career, do not be motivated by money or status. If you do what you are talented in, you will never have to work in your entire life. Whether it is classy or not, makes use of your talent and you will enjoy effortless triumph.

Marriage: There is something about you that perfectly complements your spouse. If you do not identify it and improve at it, you will always be a faultfinder. If the only things you notice about your spouse are his/her faults, you will always have issues. You say to yourself, "I wish I had married the guy or girl I was going out with in University" Why? You see their pictures on Facebook, the vacations they go for, the houses, cars, dressing etc. If you could not handle the challenges you had when you were going out, you would not have been able to handle the potentials they carry in marriage! You have no business desiring what belongs to someone else, cultivate your own farm and it will yield unto you.

 Matthew 25:15 NKJV
"And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey"
So, identify your talents in all areas of your life, do not be shy to work with them in order to profit. Do not desire what belongs to someone else because you have no idea the sacrifice they make to maintain and sustain the glitz and glamour that you are envious of.  Refuse to be a witch or wizard, do not be envious, and rather make the best of your God-given talents.
Keep trading! Shalom.

MIRROR! MIRROR! MIRROR!!!! WHAT CAN YOU SEE?

I went to make my hair last night and took my children with me. There was a young and bright boy using glasses at the hairdresser's and on seeing the children, he was excited and immediately, the 3 hit it off.

Few minutes later, the young lad came over to report that my girl said something. I asked him what it was.
He said, "I asked her if she thought I was handsome or ugly and she replied, both. How can I be ugly?"

Now I was confused on how to reply, because he actually used the ugly word but i also know my girl can be cheeky a times but I eased the tension by explaining what both words mean, when to use them and when not to and how beautiful they all were inside and out, they all continued to play. This young boy offered them snacks, played with them, read books with them, fought with them and they all made up again as well.

Then I thought within me, this young lad asked a question and wanted a particular answer. He already knew the answer he felt was right and not getting it upset him.

It got me wondering.

How many times have you been chance to look in the mirror recently? What did you see and what crossed your mind?
A lot of us will talk about the outward physical beauty, a beautifully dressed jewel with sparkly eyes etc.

Some people like myself, have a small tribal mark but even when people look closely and point it out to me, I cast it aside or reject it, why? Because I only want to see what I want to see!
My lord is not a God of physical beauty alone. He focuses on the inner and spiritual qualities and this is what is called "true beauty".

What are qualities of beauty?

- an awareness of one's spiritual poverty
- sorrow for wickedness
- hunger and thirst for righteousness
- mercy
- purity of heart
- being a peacemaker

Psalms 139 vs 1-16

Vs 11-13 talks about how open we are in the sight of God and no veil can hide us from God.
No outward circumstances can separate us from The Lord.

Vs 14 affirms that: "I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works and THAT my soul knowing right well.

Have you ever watched a Lego-fan child build from scratch an aero-plane from his Lego collection?

Watch how detailed the child goes, starting from the base, assembling it, laying out the fine details, extra added details till the outside is able to visualize an aero-plane.
Exactly the time taken on each and every one of us and The Lord know the details of our bones, veins, each and every nerve and arteries within us, the positioning and the usefulness.

In all we do, let us look past what pops straight into our faces via the mirror. Look beyond the outer layer, look beyond the outer face. Focus on the inner part.

NOTE: Taking good care of the physical body is very paramount and without doubt, very necessary

but still will never beat the inner mind to it.
I don't know who this is for today but jewels, it could be for you! Someone somewhere has been neglected and rejected because you judged them based on their outer appearance.

Look beyond the outward part, see the inner person, see what the person is made of, look past the glares and the shines.
Take your time to study a person. Don't jump to conclusion based on a physical note or appearance. Everyone is special in their own way, take time to find this out. Don't judge based on what the mirror shows or tell you, move a step closer and discover not only the real YOU but the GODLY YOU!,

My pray is that , May God give us d grace to see each other d way God is seeing us.By Sadee O’Dare

You Need To Make a Difference!!!

So the world was thrown in mourning yesterday night with the news of the demise of the former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela. Known as the “Madiba” which means father, he died at 95 years, but all over the place there was sadness and gloom. Everyone agrees that we have lost a rare gem. Even though his last major public appearance was in July 2010, we constantly have been receiving updates about his life from the time he fell ill. And many obituaries have been erroneously published about him! Everyone has heard about him one way or another and in death, we all have sweet words to say about him, even people who have never physically met him before. He surely left his mark on earth, and I don’t even know if he had Jesus!

What about you? What would you like to be remembered for? Oh I know that sounds cliché but seriously, what lives are you affecting now? Some of us have raw gifts and are a bundle of talents but we have allowed the ‘cares of this world’ to squash them. You go to work and your manager finds faults in one little thing you did. It earned you a query. Seething with anger, you leave for home and get stuck in 2 hours gruesome traffic! You finally make it home and realise that your hubby isn’t home yet, he is again working late.

Then you get into the kitchen and find dishes in the sink, the housemaid slept off without washing them! You look through the children’s homework and they are undone! Not only that, there is a letter from their school asking for payment for one thing or the other – How many of us can identify with what I’m saying? At that point the last thing on your mind is changing the world or affecting your generation…lol. Funny as it may sound, this goes on in our lives almost every day until those God given potentials remain unharnessed!

Question – Must everyone become famous? Must everyone affect their generation? Why can’t I just mind my family and my business – me myself and my dog. Hmmm, let’s see what scriptures say:

Matthew 9:31 - 31 But when they had departed, they spread the news about Him in all that country(NKJV)
Mark 1:28 - And immediately His fame spread throughout all the region around Galilee(NKJV)

Both scriptures above talk about Jesus while he was on earth. He was well known for what he did – touching lives.

1st John 4:17 - 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus(NIV)

I know that verse talks about the love of God but surely if we are like him in love, then we are like him in all things? If Jesus’ fame spread, then suffice to say that ours should spread too. Christians need a wake-up call to take their place and do their Father proud. We have unbelievers is high places making news (I’m not referring to Mandela here) and touching lives, what about you?

One of my mentors said – “When you pass on and the world stops to acknowledge it, it means you made a world-class difference” I am set to make that difference in greater measures from now on. I encourage you as well, go on then, just DO IT!. By deby Okoh

You Must Take It By Force

"And from the days of John the Baptist, until now the kingdom of heaven suffered violence, and the violent take it by force". Matthew 11:12
A few years ago, this scripture only came to mind when I think about preaching the gospel.
I would like to assume you too at one point or the other have read this scripture, but it has a whole new meaning to me now. When I look around today, I realize that you must make sure that this scripture is written upon the tablets of your heart, you memorize it and practice it on a daily basis. With the level of atrocities some Christians commit, you know without a doubt that you need to guard jealously that which has been given to you. This write up is not about those who are deceiving others, taking advantage of fellow brethren, wearying the hands of the workers in the vineyard for their own pleasure but it is about making sure you DO NOT FALL PREY to them. That is why an understanding of the word of God; who you are, your position, God's expectations of and from you are all so important. Do not be naive or ignorant, "ignorant is said to be inadmissible even in the court of law".
A few years ago when I gave my life to Christ, the goal was to make heaven, you work on your weaknesses and you sing all manner of songs; "I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no looking back", "Whatever will hinder me from making heaven, Lord help me take it out of the way" and so on. The scariest thing is that the ones the devil has planted to hinder, cause offence and derail a lot of Christians are not too far from the fold. Right there in the church, wolves, now dress gorgeously in lambs clothing. They sit in high places where they can locate, identify and target their preys. Their blazing and deceitful eyes are sharpened by the offices they occupy and titles they bear. Devouring whichever lamb(s) seems appealing. I remember with so much nostalgia the days when brothers (we called them Bro) will disciple young sisters, help them to grow and become grounded in the word of God without any attachment or lustly desires. These brothers become your big brothers, part of your Christian family and years after you still relate well with them. As a female in the church, If you find a "brother" getting unduly close to you in the church these days, you will do yourself a whole lot of good by ensuring your guards are in place!
Why am I so critical you ask? It hurts when the vulnerable are victims of those who should protect them. A lot of people come into the church after escapades in the world, someone preaches to them that there is salvation, they come to fellowship and find meaning to their lives. They see how happy people are, they desire a new beginning. They are weary of becoming active in church perhaps because of their past, but we echo and reecho what the love of God did at Calvary and how we have access to God's presence and are able to call Him Abba Father. These ones become encouraged, they believe the word of God about a new chapter opening in their lives, they make friends, join a group in the church to make a difference and to a large extent they think they are settled and members of the church. They pick up the lingo of the Church; "it is well", "bless you", they end their words with prayers in Jesus name.
I would have loved to end this write up here with "and they lived happily ever after". No, that is not the new trend now. There is something that is now rampant, "Old prophets" in the church are now misleading young Christians; they start relationships that only lead to sexual sins with these ones, they violate the trust placed in them because of their titles and positions in the church. After these ones have been "cheated", they become bitter and leave the church. They feel cheated because if they were in the familiar terrain, they would be able to handle anyone who attempts to take advantage of them. However, these ones are defrauded because they have let down their guards because they were in the house of the Lord. Someone might want to be the devil’s advocate by saying "why do you make these young Christians appear naive when everything happens by mutual consent?" I will only say this "it is wrong to take advantage of those committed into your care.
Matthew 18:6 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea".
Jesus did not mince words when He said this!

We cannot afford to look away in our sphere of influence as the ones for whom Christ died are being led back into hell. It is better to go into heaven blind than with two eye, rot in hell. If you are in church and you find yourself being lured by whoever (never mind titles and do not be deceived by them) to sin, remember that you owe it to yourself and to God to enforce the word of God over your heart, desires and associations. Report any of such people to authorities, keep escalating until someone hears you. Any relationship whether with man or woman that will make you head towards hell, you should avoid like a plague. Without a doubt, the end times are here! For anyone who thinks being in the church positions you to see, touch and feel the best of girls, undefiled, pretty, hardworking, broken, damaged etc, the mercy of God calls you to repentance today. Do turn around, a new leaf before it is too late. Jesus loves you, it is not too late! Repent, so your lamp does not go out.
Keep your heart with diligence, you cannot complain about what you allow. Take the kingdom of God by force, let people call you names, despise you for your stand but make sure you are turned to hell. I commit each one of you to Him that is able to keep and preserve you till His coming. We are indeed in perilous times, I pray that God will give us shepherds after His own heart to lead us into righteousness. Shalom!, By Omo Ishow.
