EXPECTATION
Imagine a child comes to you as a mother asking for something, after
asking the child says, “I’m just asking I know you will not give it to
me”......I’m sure you will feel bad as a mother, why then was the child asking
if he knows the mother will not give it to him?
Your expectation is that which you look forward to get from someone or
something at the end of a period.
When you pray do you have expectations? It is only the expectation of
the righteous that shall not be cut short. (Prov. 23:18). What happens to that
righteous fellow who does not have an expectation?
Many people gather together in the church in those days to pray for a
disciple who was in danger to be killed. Let’s see something about the “many”
who gathered to pray.
Acts 12: 5, 12-16
“5 - Peter therefore was kept in the prison, but constant prayer was made by the assembly to God for him.”
“12 Thinking about that, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying.
13 When Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a maid named Rhoda came to answer.
14 When she recognized Peter's voice, she didn't open the gate for joy, but ran in, and reported that Peter stood before the gate.
15 They said to her, "You are crazy!" But she insisted that it was so. They said, "It is his angel."
16 But Peter continued knocking. When they had opened, they saw him, and were amazed (World English Bible)

The many had come together to pray but they had no expectations for the
deliverance of Peter, the Bible did not tell us for how long they have been
praying but they were praying yet they were not ready for the answer to their
prayers. They were surprised because some of them came to pray because they did
not want the ”pastor” to query them, how often do we come into God’s presence
without expectation but just to fulfil all righteousness? We see the ''many'
praying and yet the language of unbelief in response to Rhoda the maid.
Often times we go before God in prayers yet we are not ready for what
God wants to do because we do not have expectations. Why do we go before God
when we do not believe He will do it? God wants us to come believing in Him for
our desires to be granted (Heb. 11:6).
The process of planting a seed by a farmer and burying a corpse by an undertaker is the same (digging the ground is involved), the difference between them is expectation. The farmer continues to water the farm land and remove weeds, expecting that the seed will germinate and grow, but the undertaker does not revisit the grave because he does not expect the corpse to rise again.

Do you handle your prayers before God like a farmer or an undertaker?
As we tarry in His presence this new month, come expecting to receive
and the ever faithful Father will grant that desire of yours in Jesus name.
Do You Know God Wants to Speak Through You?
Through the last few decades, the role of prophets and
prophecy in the body of Christ has grown both in acceptance and significance.
These days it's not unusual to hear someone give a prophetic word in a church,
at a conference or during some other kind of Christian gathering.
But God's plan for prophetic ministry goes far beyond
the four walls of the church. God wants us to take the prophetic to the
streets!
What do I mean by "taking the prophetic to the
streets"? I mean living up to our job description as God's anointed people
in the world.
Isaiah 61:1-3 tells us: "The spirit of the
Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news
to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom
for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the
year of the Lord's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all
who mourn, and provide for all who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of
beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of
praise instead of a spirit of despair" (NIV).
Perhaps you're thinking, "But I'm not a
prophetic-type person. That's not my gift." Well, have you ever stepped
into a house and felt an evil presence? Have you ever found yourself in a
certain situation and sensed the presence of God?
Being prophetic isn't strange or unnatural. It's
naturally supernatural! All it takes is childlike faith and a willingness to
trust the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
Each of us is called to be a revelation of Jesus Christ
to the world. That's prophetic! We're called to
MANAGING MONEY
He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves
abundance with its income. Ecclesiastes 5:10
A successful businessman once confided in another businessman known for
his wisdom. "I've made a lot of money. I will soon be able to retire
comfortably and do just about anything I want."
The wise businessman replied, "I've noticed that every time someone
thinks they've built a tree that is so tall it almost reaches heaven, God often
decides to shake that tree."
The minute we start trusting in riches, God "shake the tree"
to demonstrate to us that He is the source of wealth. God wants us to trust in
Him, not in riches.
Trusting in earthly riches has serious eternal consequence. And He loves
us too much to allow us to continue down that destructive path.
Money is mentioned more than 2,000 times in the scripture. Jesus used it
many times in illustrating some important lessons to his disciples.
He spoke of the need to be good stewards of the resources He entrusts to
us. He wants us to use our wealth to serve and honour God and stay away from
making money an idol in our lives.
Jesus understood that He was here on earth only to do the will of the
Father. "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; He can
do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does, the
Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all He does."
We must also understand that the purpose God entrusts us with money is
for us to do His will. We don't live for ourselves but for the Lord and His
Kingdom.
The Lord expects us to finance His Kingdom business with our wealth.
Check your motives today and see if your financial life can stand Jesus'
scrutiny.
Are you managing your money as a steward of the financial resources God
has entrusted to you?
Prayer: Ask the Lord to make you a financier of His Kingdom business.

Wise Men from the East
Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him."
3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.
5 So they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:
6 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,
Are not the least among the rulers of Judah;
For out of you shall come a Ruler
Who will shepherd My people Israel.'"
7 Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also."
9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

The King's Court
TEXT: AMOS 7:7-17
Key verse: “But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court” (Amos 7:13).
The King’s court, ideally, should be insulated from error and deception. It should be the final and objective arbiter in the mortal fight between truth and falsehood. It should be the embodiment and symbol of authority against which no other law should stand. For, according to the Bible, “Where the word of a King is, there is power: and who may say unto him, what doest thou?” (Ecclessiastes 8:4). And Proverbs 30:31 describes the King as one, “against whom there is no rising up.”
Unfortunately in the days of Amos the prophet in Bethel, North of the divided kingdom of Israel, Amaziah, a priest, influenced the king to reject the Word of God. Amaziah belonged to the tribe of spurious preachers who minister for filthy lucre. At a time when God had measured Israel with a plumb-line and declared that the land was morally misplaced and ripe for a harvest of divine retributions, Amaziah went against Amos, the prophet whom God used to relate the harsh but true predictions. Amaziah, a priest presiding over the worship of the golden calf set up by Jeroboam, tried to incite the king against Amos, maliciously charging him with treason.
Amaziah sought to silence Amos and advised him not to preach in Bethel, where Jeroboam chose to site his ill-advised sanctuary in a bid to separate from Judah. His message was considered too harsh and unsuitable for a rebellious and impenitent society. For this ignoble role, Amaziah incurred the wrath of God and Amos pronounced terrible judgment on him and the land as a whole (verse 17).
Today, there is a conscious attempt induced by Satan to silence the ministers who preach the totality of God’s word. The doors of most churches are shut against them because the people cannot endure sound doctrine. The choice is, however, yours to make as to where to pitch your camp in this battle between truth and error. But remember that your decision carries eternal consequences.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Nothing can harm the truth.
