Would You Do This For Fashion? Hmmmm

I’m sure most women are familiar with the feeling of seeing the shoe of their dreams in a shop. Just when they squeeze their feet in to fit, they discover the shoe is just too tight…in fact two sizes small. When they ask the shop attendant for the same shoe in their actual size, they get this reply:
“It’s the only size left.”
cinderella-400x350
They’ll then wish their feet were small enough to fit in. Well, plastic surgeons have capitalized on the longings of these women and invented a foot plastic surgery which they’ve called the ‘Cinderella.’ Foot altering surgeries has been going on for years now, but The New York Times reported last week that they’ve suddenly become more popular than ever.
They procedures range from strategic Botox injections on the balls of your feet, to the Perfect 10 (toe shortening) to the Model T (toe lengthening) to the Cinderella, where your entire foot is altered to fit your favourite shoe size.
Beverly Hills doctor, Dr. Ali Sadrieh, says these elective, cosmetic foot surgeries are so popular that he coined cute little names for them all, so patients can conveniently order them like they’re choosing lip gloss shades at a cosmetic shop.
Another doctor; the founder of NYC Footcare, Dr. Oliver Zong, who is a self-proclaimed “originator of the foot face-lift and toe tuck,” routinely corrects such conditions as High Heel Foot (a term he coined to describe a deformed foot that’s conformed to the shape of a stiletto), and Hitchhiker’s Toe, (an abnormally large big toe that sticks out like the thumb of a hitch hiker). He recently introduced the phrase “Toebesity,” which he plans to describe on his site, where flashing text promises: “Designer feet for designer shoes.”
Do you think these feet-altering procedures are crazy? Would you undergo any?

LADIES DON'T TRY THIS

One day a woman
wanted to know how the husband would
react if she left without telling
him where she had gone. So she decided to write
him a letter saying she is tired of him and didn't
want to live with him
anymore and
after writing she put the letter on the table in the
bedroom and then hid under the
bed... When the husband came
back home, saw the letter and read it, he
replied on the same paper and then began to sing
and dance changing his clothes. He got his phone,
dialed someone then said:
"Hey babe, am just changing clothes
then will join you, as for the other fool it
has finally dawned on her that I was fooling
around with her and has left. I was wrong..really
wrong to have married her, I wish I had known
you
earlier. See you soon
honey!"
The husband walked out of the room and
left. In tears and very upset, the woman
got up from under the bed and decided to
go and read what the husband wrote on
the letter. When she got the letter, it said: "I
COULD see your feet under the bed, I didn't
make any phone call.. I am going to buy
bread. Stand up, stop your silly games and
prepare me a meal...
I LOVE U

World Health Organisation(who)to declare Nigeria Ebola-free today

WHO to declare Nigeria Ebola-free todayThe World Health Organisation is preparing to announce that Nigeria has not had a confirmed case of Ebola for 42 days – or two incubation periods of 21 days – just as it did for Senegal on Friday.
WHO on Friday declared Senegal free of Ebola after 42 days passed without a new confirmed case.
“WHO officially declares the Ebola outbreak in Senegal over and commends the country on its diligence to end the transmission of the virus,” the UN health agency had said in a statement.
The benchmark of 42 days is twice the maximum incubation period for the disease.
A similar WHO statement on Nigeria is expected on Monday (today) after the requisite period without a new infection.

How I Met & Fell In Love With My Husband, Pastor Yemisi Ashimolowo of KICC

Pastor Yemisi Ashimolowo is the First Lady of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) one of the largest and fastest growing churches in Western Europe, with branches all over Africa.

Pastor Yemisi, who added another year on September 23rd, 2014 is married to KICC Senior Pastor, Matthew Ashimolowo and she is the proud mother of two sons, Tobi and Tomi. In a recent chat whith City People, she opened up on her love story...enjoy:

Now, let’s go personal Ma, how long have you been married to Pastor Matthew?
I have been married for 33 years.

Did you envisage that you were going to be married to a Pastor as a Pastor’s daughter?
No, no, no! Marrying a Pastor was the last thing in my mind. Because my Dad is a Pastor and as a Pastor’s daughter, I dreaded marrying a Pastor. My Dad has 2 brothers that are Pastors also but of different denominations. I never really wanted to marry a Pastor but God knows the plans He has for our lives.

So, how is being married to Pastor Matthew like?
First and foremost, I thank God that I never listened to the Unilag lecturer who warned me against marrying Pastor Matthew otherwise I would have been probably in a one corner room here in Lagos. But see how my life has turned out to be traveling all over the world to preach and minister. The lecturer never saw any future in Pastor Matthew as a Pastor but the lecturer is late now.
I didn’t know that marrying Pastor Matthew will end this way even I didn’t want to preach when I married him, I just wanted to be a full house wife but he was the one who really discovered me, and saw the beauty of God in my life. So, he mentored me to be what I am today. And I never knew that KICC would be a big church that it is today.

How did it all happen between you?
Okay! I can still remember vividly, it was January 1980, when Pastor Matthew came to my Dad’s church to assist him as an Assistant Pastor. He just came out of Bible School as a fresh graduate then and he was immediately posted to Foursquare Bible Church as an Assistant Pastor to my father even though he had CAC background. And I saw this young vibrant man who was posted to my Dad’s branch. I remember, we were having a serious challenge at that time and we were worshipping outside because our properties were been thrown outside by our landlord over land problem in my area at that time.
It was at this period of time that this young and fresh man (Pastor Matthew) came. This man was so committed and the way he was serving God swept me off my heels. Then I told God that God, if only you can give me a man like this young and vibrant man that is newly posted to work with my Dad for a husband but must not be a Pastor, then I will forever be grateful to you. It was his commitment to the Lord that attracted me to him. This young man was so committed to the things of God.

Was it love at first sight?
Not really because he was a Pastor and I didn’t want to marry a Pastor but I was only attracted to him when I saw him. I must also confess, marrying Pastor Matthew is the best thing that has happened to me. But you know, as a Pastor’s daughter and having 2 Uncles as Pastors, I wasn’t interested in another Pastor again. But I thank God I married one now.

What has been the challenge(s) so far?
Definitely in life there will be challenges. But you need the grace of God to deal with them. And in the ministry, you have to meet and deal with different kinds of people and all of these takes the grace of God.

Marriage-wise?
Every marriage has its ups and downs and every marriage goes through challenges and as I said earlier, it only takes the grace of God.

THE Redeemed Christian Church of God, Opens Convention With Ordination Of 8,622 Deacons

A growing church should be one that continues steadfastly in fellowship, study and prayer. Each believer amongst them should grow and become strong in the Lord. The church that will grow must be a studying church, a sharing church and a praying church with manifestations of signs, wonders and miracles, just like the early church.’—Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

THE Redeemed Christian Church of God, reputed to be the fastest growing church in the world, will this morning ordain a total of 8,622 deacons and deaconesses to flag off the 62nd annual convention of the church which started in 1952 as a daily prayer group under the leadership of Rev. Josiah Akindayomi (1909–1980) after he had been involved in several other churches. He was a member of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church.

Thirteen men, including the then Brother Josiah Akindayomi (founder), Brother J.A. Fakunmoju, Brother Makun (the first ordained pastor in the church). Brother J.A. Adekoya, Brother S.K. Padonu and Brother S.A. Olonode, Brother Fadiora, Brother Ilenusi, Brother Okuwobi and Brother Fetuga started the group. The other three brothers were Brother Adefeso, Brother G. A Adefunwa and Brother Matiluko.

The 13 brothers continued to worship at 9, Willoughby Street, Ebute Meta, Lagos having been excommunicated from the Cherubim and Seraphim Church. In the course of their fellowshipping they needed to have their own identity.

Thus, the group was first called the Apostolic Faith of South Africa. Though it had no link with South Africa, it was documented in a booklet published by the church to mark its 50th anniversary that the first name given to the church was a “classic example of the innocence of Rev. Akindayomi…Sometime later, after learning that Nigeria is not in Southern Africa, he changed the name of the group to the Apostolic Faith Mission of West Africa.”

But all those names soon gave way to the current Redeemed Christian Church of God after a divine encounter the founder had with God. He was said to have been woken up in a trance and given its current name though he was not a lettered person. Bro. Olanode one of his lieutenants who was educated was said to have interpreted what the founder copied from the vision as REDEEMED CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF GOD.

In the early 1970s, Akindayomi started to look for an educated successor who was not at that time a member of the church. He chose Enoch Adeboye, a lecturer in Mathematics Department at the University of Lagos, who joined the church in 1973. Adeboye initially became one of the interpreters translating Akindayomi’s sermons from Yoruba to English. He was ordained a pastor of the church in 1975, and his appointment as leader of the church was formalized by the posthumous reading of Akindayomi’s sealed pronouncement.

Andrew Rice, writing in ‘The New York Times’, described the RCCG as “one of (Africa’s) most vigorously expansionary religious movements, a homegrown Pentecostal denomination that is crusading to become a global faith”.

Global faith

According to Daniel Ajayi-Adeniran, a pastor of the church, “In every household there will be, at least, one member of Redeemed Christian Church of God in the whole world.”

From that humble beginning, the church has grown by leaps and bounds to have branches in over 180 nations of the world including parishes in Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon and in nearly all seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates. According to figures released last year, the church now has 18 regions in Nigeria with varying number of provinces spread across the country.

This morning, the leadership will ordain deacons and deaconesses after an unusually expanded screening process to weed out undeserving persons. Ordination is the process by which individuals after a period of training, are identified for consecration, that is, set apart as clergy to perform various religious rites and ceremonies. The process and ceremonies of ordination vary by religion and denomination.

To avoid undesirable elements from infiltrating the ranks of the ordainees, Pastor Adeboye made the process more transparent by the publication of the screened candidates, urging members’ involvement, declaring: “we have posted the names of members who have been screened for ordination, so that whoever has any reason why they should not be ordained should write a letter to us on why such a person should not be ordained, we will then investigate and if the findings are true such a minister would not be ordained.”

Last year, General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye presided over a similar ceremony where 8,850 men and women were ordained as deacons and deaconesses to assist the leadership of the church in the smooth running of the ever-growing church.

The ceremony is scheduled for 8.30 a.m. The only other event for the day, House Fellowship Leaders & Workers meeting is billed for 8.30 p.m. and it will be followed by Council meeting.

The photo is striking: three little girls, each bald from chemo treatments

Three Girls in Viral Cancer Photo All in RemissionThe photo is striking: three little girls, each bald from chemo treatments to battle a different type of cancer, leaning into each other with their eyes closed. They stand beneath the cursive caption, “Sometimes strength comes in knowing that you are not alone!” The image went viral in April, melting the hearts of thousands of Facebook fans but leaving a haunting feeling, too, because we couldn't know how each child’s story would turn out.
Now we know, though, and the news couldn't be better: All three girls are in remission.

“Rheann was the only one still fighting, and she was still pretty sick and still projected to have quite some time to go,” the photographer, Oklahoma-based Lora Scantling, tells Yahoo Health through a Facebook message about the 6-year-old who stood in the center of the photo. She had been battling a rare form of brain cancer called Mucoid Spindle Sarcoma. “So of course when they declared her in remission I cried! About a year before that photo was taken, she was so sick that the doctors told her family to prepare for the worst, because there was no way she would make it. She is a very strong girl.”
The other girls had pretty much won their battles by the time the photo went viral, and the good news still stands, according to their recent follow-up scans: Ryley, 3, has beaten a form of stage-five kidney cancer, while 4-year-old Ainsley remains in remission from acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It’s a lucky three-for-three in beating the odds, because though survival rates have increased drastically over the past few decades, cancer is still the number-one cause of disease-related deaths among children, according to the American Childhood Cancer Organization.
The original photo was the work of Scantling, of  Scantling Photography, and her studio partner, Christy Goodger, of Goodger Photography. The two, who share a studio is in Bethany, Oklahoma, decided to create the poignant images after finding the children through Facebook. “The girls had not met before, yet they bonded the instant they saw each other and it was like they knew they had a common bond,” Scantling told Yahoo in April about the studio shoot, for which the three got gussied up in vintage clothing and flapper-style headbands from local boutiques.

Scantling, who has been thrilled and overwhelmed with the reaction to her work, found inspiration for the photo concept from the cancer that was affecting her own family: Her stepfather was battling stage-four lung cancer at the time, but died in May. “It was very hard losing him,” she tells Yahoo Health. “I know he was very proud of me taking a picture that was so inspiring about such a terrible disease, and I know that he would want me to continue to use my gift this way.”
She’s been doing just that, as she and Goodger have been working with Ally’s House, a children’s cancer foundation in Oklahoma, to create even more poignant images, some of which can be seen on the project’s Facebook page.
And if the mom of superstar survivor Rheann is any indication, the photos make a huge difference in the lives of those who get to pose. “It was so heartwarming, getting all the messages from around the world!” Valerie Franklin tells Yahoo Health through a Facebook message about the public reaction to the viral image. “It has really helped keep our spirits up, and helped us to see the impact that all of our daughters have had on the world with this one photo shoot.”
Between the time of Rheann’s diagnosis in 2012 and now, her mom explains, she has undergone five brain surgeries, chemotherapy, and proton radiation all of which seem to have saved her life. “The doctors didn't think she would make it through last summer,” she says, “but she sure proved them wrong.” Source: yahoo.com

Taliban in Nigeria, pledges to help free Chibok girls

ABUJA (Reuters) - Pakistani rights activist Malala Yousafzai, who survived being shot in the head by the Taliban for campaigning for girls' education, pledged while on a trip to Nigeria to help free a group of schoolgirls abducted by Islamist militants.
On Sunday, Malala met parents of the more than 200 girls who were kidnapped by the militant group Boko Haram from a school in the northeastern village of Chibok in April.
Boko Haram, inspired by the Taliban, say they are fighting to establish an Islamic state in religiously mixed Nigeria. The group, whose name means "Western education is sinful", has killed thousands and abducted hundreds since launching an uprising in 2009.
Some of the parents broke down in tears as Malala spoke at a hotel in the capital Abuja on Sunday."I can see those girls as my sisters ... and I'm going to speak up for them until they are released," said Malala, who was due to meet President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday, her 17th birthday.
"I'm going to participate actively in the 'Bring back our girls' campaign, to make sure that they return safely and they continue their education."
The girls' abduction drew unprecedented international attention to the war in Nigeria's northeast and the growing security risk that Boko Haram poses to Nigeria, Africa's leading energy producer.
A #BringBackOurGirls Twitter campaign supported by Michelle Obama and Angelina Jolie heaped pressure on authorities to act, and Jonathan pledged to save the girls, drawing promises of Western help to do so.
"I can feel ... the circumstances under which you are suffering," Malala said. "It's quite difficult for a parent to know that their daughter is in great danger. My birthday wish this year is ... bring back our girls now, and alive."
ABUJA PROTEST
Several weeks on, the hostages have not been freed and media interest has waned. Around 200 Nigerians gathered in the Unity Fountain park in central Abuja on Sunday to call on authorities to explain what they are doing to get the girls out.
"Nobody has told us anything about where the girls could be, what they are doing to try to rescue them. In three months, we've heard nothing," said Haruna Fetima, one of the parents at the gathering. "We live in Chibok, and we haven't seen any soldiers or police in the area since the attack."
Boko Haram, now considered the main security threat to Nigeria, is growing bolder. Police said on Saturday they had uncovered a plot to bomb the Abuja transport network using suicide bombers and devices concealed in luggage at major bus stations.
Pakistani Taliban militants shot Malala for her passionate advocacy of women's right to education. She survived after being airlifted to Britain for treatment, and has since become a symbol of defiance against the militants operating in the tribal areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
She has won the European Union's prestigious human rights award and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize last year.
Some see Nigeria's local #BringBackOurGirls campaign as a rare, albeit small, piece of civil activism in a nation famous for its shoulder-shrugging indifference in the face of atrocities or bad governance.
"The negative side of our resilience ... is that things that would compel other citizens to demand accountability, demand answers, wouldn't move the Nigerian," said Oby Ezekwesili, a chartered accountant who has spearheaded the campaign to get the girls freed.
"That has been broken ... People are saying 'We can't leave 219 girls and just get on with our lives'."

A few lessons on ANGER

A few lessons on ANGER;
The more you grow up, the less you blow up;
The emptier the pot, the quicker it boils;
An angry man is seldom reasonable; a reasonable man is seldom angry;
Anger is one letter short of danger;
In a disagreement, the moment we feel anger, we have ceased striving for the truth, and begun striving for ourselves.
ANGER ERODES RELATIONSHIPS!

This Woman Had Her Face Photoshopped In Over 25 Countries To Examine Global Beauty Standards

Esther Honig, a freelance journalist based out of Kansas City, sent an unaltered photograph of herself to more than 40 Photoshop aficionados around the world. “Make me beautiful,” she said, hoping to bring to light how standards of beauty differ across various cultures.
The project, titled Before & After, originally came to Honig while she was working as a social media manager for a small startup. Her boss introduced her to Fiverr, an international freelancing website where anyone can hire freelancers from around the globe to complete almost any task imaginable. While browsing the site, Honig realized the prevalence of those offering Photoshop skills. “It immediately occurred to me that in this pool of workers, each individual likely had an aesthetic preference particular to their own culture,” Honig told BuzzFeed. Thus, the idea for Before & After was born.
Working with freelancers in over 25 countries, Honig expected that the images would differ from country to country, but was herself caught off guard by just how drastically some of the images were altered. “Seeing some jobs for the first time made me shriek… Other times images, like the one from Morocco, took my breath away because they were far more insightful than I could have expected,” Honig said.
To be sure, the images Honig has collected so far are interesting as individual images, a unique portrait of the standards of beauty in each country. However, when taken in totality, the project becomes much more striking, an interesting launching point into a global conversation about unattainable beauty standards around the world. “What I’ve learned from the project is this: Photoshop [may] allow us to achieve our unobtainable standards of beauty, but when we compare those standards on a global scale, achieving the ideal remains all the more illusive.”

Below are the photographs that Honig has collected thus far. Note: Some countries have multiple images from different artists. Honig continues her project on her website.

Top 5 tips to find a new job

Congrats, you are finally graduated from your University. The only snag is where and how to find a new job corresponding to your studies? Here are some tips for you.
Well-presented and coherent resume and cover letter
First of all, make sure to have a correct and coherent resume and cover letter. State explicitly there why you are the best candidate for a given job offer. In other words, “be clear”. Ask an advice from an expert if needed be to correct some mistakes there in. Information has to be coherent in the resume and the cover letter. Before writing them down, read the job description and carefully target it to your desire to work in the company. Go online or on TV and try to discover what is the job seeker searching for as well as key elements that ca be discussed during a probable interview.
Searching scrupulously
Depending on studies you have followed, you can start researches. Job application may not be directly answered a few days after the deposit. Nevertheless, you will need to be patient and keep on searching. There are hundreds of websites on the Internet that can provide you with job offers that can meet your needs and requirements. Search on newspapers, keep connected with friends and ask them if there is an offer somewhere that may be interesting for you.
Use social networks
Social networks can work for both personal and professional use. Get involved in professional social networks, participate in forums and do not hesitate to show your degree and competences off. Networking is considered to be the number one in networking strategy. Sooner or later, you will receive an answer from a recruiter. You can also use options such as online notification to remind and alert you of a job offer.
Do what it takes to stand out among the crowd
Human resources boards receive and have to read about hundreds of resumes per day. They do not have enough time to read them carefully. Due to this situation then, you have to find ways to make your resume stands out from others. Copy paste from the Internet can be a real danger.  Online models are quite the same and using them is giving HR chances not to read yours. Moreover, target your documents (letter of application and cover letter) to the special job you are applying for. Make sure it does not contain error. You can also call the employer and share your excitement and enthusiasm concerning the job offer.
Be confident and don’t give up
Take this last tip in your heart. You may have tried everything but the future still remains unopened. Getting discouraged can happen to everyone and especially to students searching for their first or their new job. Looking for a job is a competitive market. If you give up too early, you are loosing the trade. Even if many people are lacking of motivation and initiate, let it be not you.  Perseverance is important in any field of life.

Darlene Zschech: popular christian worship leader, Ends Chemo (Video below)

Nearly five months ago, former Hillsong Church worship pastor Darlene Zschech announced that she had breast cancer and would undergo chemotherapy. Now the popular singer and songwriter is thanking prayer warriors for their efforts during the battle.

Zschech announced she has officially finished her last round of chemo and says hallelujah is the best word to describe how she feels about it. The battle isn't over. She starts radiation this coming week and that will last six weeks.
"I shall be glowing from the inside out," she quips. "And then that's it. Never again."
Zschech again thanks her fans for continued prayers.
"On the days where I have felt I cannot do it anymore, I literally have felt the strength of people praying for me," she wrote on her blog. "The power of the Holy Spirit to comfort and strengthen has been beyond what I have ever experienced before. Again, I am so thankful for every one of you."
Zschech says she's had a lot of time to think—and think deeply. During this time, she says, she's reflected and prayed on many things.
"I cry easily, not necessarily sad tears, but tears all the same," she says. "Even when I'm laughing I end up crying. I think the tears have taken the place of words for the time being. This too shall pass. One day the words to define this season will come. And I pray they bring hope to all who hear."
"Even though I unashamedly begged for God to heal me before treatment," she says, "He said to me that as I walked through He would never leave me.
"This is the truth for all of us today, no matter what you may be facing, even if God feels far away, our loving Father will never leave us or forsake us. I take great pleasure in knowing this beyond a shadow of a doubt. He is with me. He is with you."
Zschech says she's excited about leading worship Sunday at church—the first time since the journey started.
"Even if its [sic] a bit rough and ready, leading people to the courts of our God is my greatest honor. I simply cannot wait!" she says. "His presence truly is heaven. We will pray on Sunday night for all those needing healing, and for all of you who've asked us to pray for loved ones. Yes we shall. Healing, in Jesus name."

A Boy tied to bus stop highlights struggle for disabled Read!

Mumbai (AFP) - The nine-year-old boy dressed in blue lay listlessly on the pavement in the scorching Mumbai summer afternoon, his ankle tethered with rope to a bus stop, unheeded by pedestrians strolling past.
Lakhan Kale cannot hear or speak and suffers from cerebral palsy and epilepsy, so his grandmother and carer tied him up to keep him safe while she went to work, selling toys and flower garlands on the city's roadsides.
"What else can I do? He can't talk, so how will he tell anyone if he gets lost?" said homeless Sakhubai Kale, 66, who raised Lakhan on the street by the bus stop shaded by the hanging roots of a banyan tree.
Lakhan's father died several years ago and his mother walked out on the family, his grandmother told AFP.
A photograph of him tied up appeared in a local newspaper this week, sparking concerns among charities and the police, and he has since been taken into care at a government-run institution.
But activists say his plight on the streets comes as little surprise in India, where those with disabilities face daily stigma and discrimination and a lack of facilities to assist them.

Kale said Lakhan "tends to wander off" and that there was no one else to stop him walking into traffic while she and her 12-year-old granddaughter, Rekha, were out making a living.
At night she would tie him to her own leg as they slept on the pavement so she would know if he tried to walk away.
"I am a single old woman. Nobody paid attention to me until the newspaper report," she said.
"He was in a special school, but they sent him back."
Social worker Meena Mutha has since managed to place Lakhan in a state-run south Mumbai home, which takes in a range of needy children from the disabled to the destitute.
"Residental homes are very, very few. There's a major need for the government to do something, a social responsibility to provide residential centres for children like Lakhan," said Mutha, a trustee at the Manav Foundation helping people with mental illness.
She said government-run centres that put together children with different needs did not always have the range of facilities required.
"They don't have the infrastructure, the staff," said Mutha. Conversely, non-government organisations "have expertise, but not the space," she said, highlighting the squeeze on land in the densely-packed city.
Across India, the 40 to 60 million people with disabilities often face similar struggles to get the help they need, activists say.
"There's no collective responsibility. You have a disabled child, you look after it," said Varsha Hooja, chief executive at ADAPT, another charity working with disabled young adults and children.
- No state support -
Hooja said she had seen other cases of parents locking up children with disabilities while they go to work.
"The state gives no support," she said.
A long-awaited bill was introduced into the Indian parliament in February aiming to give disabled people equal rights -- including access to education, employment and legal redress against discrimination -- but it has yet to be passed.
Lawyer Rajive Raturi was on the committee that began drafting the bill five years ago, and said the Congress party-led government which has just lost power had pushed through a "complete dilution" of the original, especially on sections regarding women and children with disabilities.
Raturi, who handles disability cases at the Human Rights Law Network, said he hoped the new parliament elected this month, dominated by incoming prime minister Narendra Modi's right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party, would "listen to the stakeholders and then make a decision".
"We can't change attitudes with an act but if the bill has the right provisions, people will think twice," he said.
Back by the Mumbai bus stop, Kale squatted on the pavement drinking chai and eating bread on the morning after bidding a tearful goodbye to her grandson.
She was hopeful she would get to see him regularly once she acquired an official identity card that would allow her to visit the centre.

"I am very happy," she said. "What else would I want other than for him to be looked after?"

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Laughter is The Best Medicine

Many years ago, Norman Cousins was diagnosed as “terminally ill”. He was given six months to live. His chance for recovery was 1 in 500.
He could see the worry, depression and anger in his life contributed to, and perhaps helped cause, his disease. He wondered, “If illness can be caused by negativity, can wellness be created by positivity?”
He decided to make an experiment of himself. Laughter was one of the most positive activities he knew. He rented all the funny movies he could find – Keaton, Chaplin, Fields, the Marx Brothers. (This was before VCRs, so he had to rent the actual films.)
He read funny stories. He asked his friends to call him whenever they said, heard or did something funny.
His pain was so great he could not sleep. Laughing for 10 solid minutes, he found, relieved the pain for several hours so he could sleep.
He fully recovered from his illness and lived another 20 happy, healthy and productive years. (His journey is detailed in his book, Anatomy of an Illness.)
He credits visualization, the love of his family and friends, and laughter for his recovery.
Some people think laughter is a waste of time. It is a luxury, they say, a frivolity, something to indulge in only every so often.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Laughter is essential to our equilibrium, to our well-being, to our aliveness. If we’re not well, laughter helps us get well; if we are well, laughter helps us stay that way.
Since Cousins’ ground-breaking subjective work, scientific studies have shown that laughter has a curative effect on the body, the mind and the emotions.
So, if you like laughter, consider it sound medical advice to indulge in it as often as you can. If you don’t like laughter, then take your medicine – laugh anyway.
Use whatever makes you laugh – movies, sitcoms, Monty Python, records, books, New Yorker cartoons, jokes, friends.
Give yourself permission to laugh – long and loud and out loud – whenever anything strikes you as funny.
The people around you may think you’re strange, but sooner or later they’ll join in even if they don’t know what you’re laughing about.
Some diseases may be contagious, but none is as contagious as the cure. . . laughter.

‘List’ Of Abducted Chibok High School

Christian Association Of Nigeria Releases ‘List’ Of Abducted Chibok High School Girls Evangelist Matthew Owojaiye of the Old Time Revival Hour Church in Kaduna has published a list of 180 abducted girls of the Government Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, calling on all Nigerian Christians for lamentation prayers for their safe release. He did not say how he obtained the list, and Sahara-Reporters has not been able to authenticate it. Chibok Local Government is 90% Christians,” he said in a statement on Sunday. “Majority of the girls abducted are Christian! Why did Boko Haram visit Chibok Local Government? Why didn’t they visit so many other Local Government Girls Secondary Schools in Borno State?”He described the abduction as an abomination.“Daughters of Zion taken captive, to be treated as slave and sold into marriage to unclean people. Abomination has been committed.“Raise lamentation to High Heavens. What a shame on the Church of the Living God.”The list published by Evangelist Owojaiye features 180 girls, of whom 165 are said to be Christian. In the statement, he warns that “ordinary” military approach may be unable to solve the problem of securing their return, but that “intensive agonizing” prayer will. On the subject of post-recovery, he demanded that the Federal Government whose duty it was to protect the innocent girls should pay N50million in trauma compensation to each girl. In addition, he demanded preparation to take each girl to an overseas university on government scholarship by September 2014, and the transfer of the SS1 and SS2 girls in the school to schools of their choice, at the expense of the government. Text of the statement: ABOMINATION! ABOMINATION!!CHRISTIAN  GIRLS ABDUCTED IN CHIBOK, BORNOSTATE. Daughters of Zion taken captive, to be treated as slave and sold into marriage to unclean people.
